Reeves Scores 26 to Lead Cornell Over Loyola

NEW YORK (AP) -Geoff Reeves scored 26 points to help Cornell beat Loyola, Ill. 78-53 on Monday night in the NIT Season Tip-off at St. John's.

Ryan Wittman added 17 points for the Big Red (3-2). Chris Wroblewski had 13 points and Jeff Foote 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Justin Cerasoli scored 11 points for the Ramblers (2-3).

With the game tied 8-8 midway through the first half, Wroblewski hit a 3-pointer to start a 21-10 run and Reeves ended the spurt with a three-point play to make it 29-18.

Loyola got within seven early in the second half before Cornell used an 8-0 run to put the game away. Reeves, who was 5-for-6 behind the arc, hit a 3-pointer during the spurt to make it 49-34 with 12:44 left.

Cornell was never challenged after.
